Through the generosity of our supporters, the Fund has been able to help patients and their families in a variety of ways. Here are a few examples:
- - Building a wheelchair ramp so that a wheelchair -bound patient is able to enjoy being outside and so that the caregiver can more easily transport him to/from physician visits
- - Providing funds so that a terminal cancer patient is able to see the ocean for the first time in his life. This included hotel for himself and caregiver, meals, and tickets to Sea World.
- - Helping a man and wife celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, complete with limo, flowers and dinner.
- - Modification of a group home so that end of life patients could be cared for more effectively
- - Providing airline tickets and hotel accommodations for family to be able to be with their loved one during their last days
- Assisting a life-long baseball fan to see his last baseball game in person.
WHO QUALIFIES TO RECEIVE HELP Recipient must:
- 1. Reside in Pinal or Gila Counties in Central Arizona;
- 2. Be deemed terminal or at end of life ;
- 3. Has needs that are not covered by insurance and/or which patient nor family have the means to provide; and,
- 4. All other avenues for financial support have been explored & exhausted.
